General information about Orly airport
To travel from Orly airport to Versailles by public transport you will need to make at least one change as there are no direct public transport links between Orly Airport and Versailles.
You have 2 options to reach Versailles :
option 1: Orly airport to Versailles by bus + train
The best option is a combination of bus and train with an Air France bus from Orly airport to Montparnasse main railway station and then a Transilien train from Montparnasse main railway station to Versailles.
However, once in Versailles it takes 20 minutes to walk to the Palace.
Air France runs a bus service from and to Orly airport (S and W terminals) which makes 3 stops in Paris: Gare Montparnasse, Invalides and Etoile-Champs Elysées. The Air France bus for Orly is line 1. You will find route map and details HERE.
Buses run every half hour from Orly airport between 6 am and 11.40 pm. You can either buy your ticket on the bus or on line. The on line ticket price per adult is 11 euros one way and 18 euros return, and the price onboard is 12 euros one way and 20 euros return. option 2: Orly to Versailles Palace by RER C
Another option consists in getting off the bus at Invalides and catching an RER C train direction Versailles Rive Gauche/Château. This train journey lasts 25 minutes and takes you to the railway station closest to the Palace of Versailles for more info see our Paris to Versailles by RER guide.
With this option, you won’t need to do the 20-minute walk, the Palace of Versailles will only be a 5-minute walk away.
